Faber Castell~250 years anniversary exhibition

Last stop before balik KL we dropped by kat Queensbay Shopping Mall, Penang sebab Dd nak sesangat pegi lepas ternampak banner kat jalan.  Papa Dd jenis allergic kalau nak pegi shopping mall sesaja sebab dia tak suka keadaan yang ramai orang sebab takut kena keluar duit err..pening haha.  Tapie we all sangatt suker lagi ramaii lagi bagus kekek...

Inilah..Dd sibuk posing dekat Life-Sized Poster of Baron Lother Von Faber the 4th Generation, who made the company world-renowned! He is the inventor of the hexagonal pencil and is also known as the Father of modern quality pencil worldwide and the founder of the first brand name product.  Muka Sinchan nih dah sekejap manis..sekejap kelattt...dah berangan2 nak membeli-belah..all things that spells ..FABER CASTELL

 

Quite an interesting exhibit.  It tells a brief history about the pencil innovations starting from its humble beginnings at a factory in Germany, its products and packaging and how the brand evolved over the centuries, lepas tuu kalau beli product value of RM20.00 you can get a self-portrait pencil sketch by the artist for free.

 Highlights of this showcase include a display of record breaking pencils – the world’s oldest pencil from the 17th century; the world’s smallest pencil at 17.5mm length; and the world’s most expensive and exclusive pencil with its cap made of solid white gold and crowned with three fine-quality diamonds, valued at RM43,000 *huii..sangat mahal...and cuma ada 99 pieces in the world!! and this pretty neat display of pencil colours pallete that make Dd's mouth ternganga  gaping in awe...heheh

lepas tu..ada pencil shufflin' by these two boys kat stage heheh...it took us only 30 minutes goin round the exhibition then we left Queensbay Mall Penang for KL..sebelum Dd had an idea that we are goin' to get him a full set of faber castell's stationeries itupun dia dah sibuk pegang kaler ini, and krayon itu..I don't get it...berapa banyak kaler laa Dd sinchan nii nak kumpul?? hehe

Penang In A Day~continue...

dah habih makan...we dropped by at the market or Chowrasta to buy some jeruks, sagu cookies (*dd and mama's favourite), some Penang Coffee, Satay Ikan, Biskut Tambun and Penang's Belacan oh! and also..Minyak Gamat and Minyak Pala. I went to the same old stall that my arwah mom used to go..so..it is so nice to see the same familiar face cuma..penjual tu pun dah berumur and now..daughter dia yang jaga..

This time around..we only covers town area..just pusing2 dengan kereta passing by the heritage trail and all the lorong2 and lebuh2 of Little India and Chinatown..so many  backpackers and we spotted this one matsalleh baru bangun tidur and tengah lipat dia punya hammock betu2l tepi jalan raya and dia tidur betul2 infront of a budget motel. Then we saw him again..merayau2 kat belakang lorong tempat orang berniaga wholesale..and finally..baru terperasan Lorong Kulit..famous for 2nd handstuff or flea market..tapie on dat day we were there takde pulak nampak orang berniaga..

Penang In A Day..

We were in Penang a few days ago..sebab nak gi landoffice to settle few things. We didn't tell anyone sebab tak nak susahkan sesiapa sebab nak rushed back and also this is not a school holiday vacation heheh kesiann budak2 diorang ingat boley ler nak gi swim2 kat pool and relax for a few days rupa-rupanya..pergi atas urusan kerja kekek..so this is the shortest trip ever and best jugak..lepas pergi settle kat land office in the morning and that morning till late evening..we all pergi pusing2 heritage trail kat town area..I love quaint little shops and rustic old buildings plus hustle bustle of old streets...sangat fun..and very nostalgic. We had our breakfast at Line Clear Nasi Kandar and oh boy! we were so stuffed sampai..rasa..mamai satt..sebab penangan curry nasik kandaq yang sangatt besttt! heheh..

bluekeys dat is!

Ngehngehh.. I am so pleased of myself sebab I just discovered that this Bluekey Pau Flour bukan saja boleh buat pau tapie at the same time I could make donuts and pizza bun out of it.
Mula2 beli 1 box and I thought hmm..from breakfast till dinner laa..we gonna stuff ourselves with kuih pau heheh...masa tengah uli2 tuh tiba2 an idea struck me..from the same dough..why not I tried to make somethin out of it? Then I tried buat donuts...it turned out so nice, kenyal, lembut and padat! exactly macam donut2 yg jual kat gerai..then lewat petang I baked mini pizza buns. Tapie..gula tuh kena kurangkan lagii..tak boleh sama sukatan macam buat pau..so from one main ingredient you can actually get 3 types of different kueh from just one batch of dough. Jadi...takdelaa we all overstuffed ourselves with just PAU that day heheh...

qeeb's 1st burfday!

happy school holiday!

baked these cuppies a night before for lily to bring it to her class party the next day. She had an enjoyable years and lookin' forward to another year in pre-school.   They had a small class party on Monday morning whereby most primary school & secondary school were already closed for school holiday.  Her two brothers pakat gelakk..olang sudaa..cutii..dia kena pergi sekolah hehehe...but she didn't mind at all..instead super excited because..that was the day...lily boley pakai baju biasa instead of  school uniform and for sure ..balik rumah bawak banyak tidbits..from her class party...Have an enjoyable school holiday everyone!!

my version of pizza quartet..

hentam jerlaa hahah..my version of pizza quartet..i called it quartet becoz..i make a few compositions on my pizza hahah the left handside loaded with sausage n cheese, the middle portion loaded with tuna cheese n mayo..and right hand side loaded with tomatoes and minced beef hehe..just an excuse takmo baked a few more pizzas..saya penatt LOL..

Vanilla & Chocolate Rice Muffins

VANILLA & CHOCOLATE RICE MUFFINS
Ingredients:
8 tbsp butter melted
4 cups flour
2 cups castor sugar
2 cups fresh milk (*i use ideal/evaporated milk)
4 tbs baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla essence
enough chocolate rice to sprinkle

Method:
1. Gaulkan kesemua bahan hingga sebati
2. Spoon the batter into muffin cups
3. Bakar for 30 mins/180c atau hingga masak



oreos cheese cake...

wahh..sangat laa berchenta nyer nak buat oreos cheese cake nih. Bahan dah beli..dekat seminggu dalam fridge tapie..buatnyer..mengambil masa sebab..rasa malas..finally buat gak laa..sebab the kiddoes dah perli2 and dah hint kalau mama takbuat cheese cake we gonna finished up all the oreos cookies. Tu pun oreos tak cukup sebab dah kena ngap so..terpaksa campur kan the base dengan McVities Graham Crackers. So ada rasa lapisan manis and masinn..but still okay..perghh..terasa cheesenyer biler makan sejuk2 tapie lepas tuh..menyesal..uwaaa..gumuklaah saya...

crispy currypuff

finally after so much persuasion and also procrastination...I finally gave in and make this currypuff one afternoon heheh...seriously a failure biler nak buat kelim currypuff..sangatlaa tak cantekk tapie kalau guna playdough boleh pulak...luckily I have in hand...the currypuff mould..so all the currypuff nampak comeii and sama size...wheww..legaa..dah banyak kali practise tapie the lipatan still tak lawa..walaupun masa kecik2 tiap2 hari dok tengok 'makyah' my mak angkat buat karipap for jualan tapie masa tuhh..dok sibuk..tolong hantar ke gerai and sibuk makan jer lerr...whatever it is...Mak Yah punyer kuih Karipap still the best in the world!! Teringat...walaupun dah kerja..masa Mak Yah sihat..she would sent some currypuff over to our house..sangatt terharu sebab dia tahu anak angkat diaa memang hantu karipuff!

Dinner at home the other nite buat pasta & pies.  Tiba-tiba petang tu rasa malas nak masak lauk-pauk yang involved process of menumis, menggulai & deep frying.  Having some of Prego's Pasta Sauces and Filo Sheets at home...definitely helps a lot saved the day! Begitu juga...kalau ada simpan stok Tuna, Sardine, Maggi Mee atau Meehon Kering. Cuma pie sajer yang extra hot! (beef curry & potato pies) ikut tekak saya yang suka pedas (heheh)...I told the kids..Hari tu kan nak currypuff..haa ni karipap ler jugak nih tapie version karipap mama hahah..

fond memories of arwah tokwan...

Adly and Didi had many fond memories of times spent with Tokwan when they were younger. Till today..alhamdullilah they remembered their tokwan as the most kind and loving person, kelakar walaupun wajah garang, their hero and best buddies and tokwan definitely loves them to bits! Kemana saja berkepit laa bebudak boys nih dengan Tokwan and sentiasa jer banyak activities from tending his little garden, taking care of his pet fish (the arowana & flowerhorn), havin' their teh tarik & roti canai fixes kat mamak's, his masjid rituals & kenduri or activities organized by his veteran clubs dan macam-macam lagi. Masa arwah Mom meninggal..masa tu Adly was about 5 years old..terus..pindah bilik because he said he wanted to accompany his Tokwan. Sometimes sampai dua orang sekali nak tido sama Tokwan and every night waktu bedtime u could hear them borak2 and giggle2. Sometimes we...as their parents feel kind of left out biler one of the boys buat tantrum, nanges kena marah..they would run to dear tokwan. And their tokwan cam ada 6th sense whenever one of his cucu balik sekolah dengan muka kelatt..he would know something was amissed and the boys would confided him of anything that happened kat sekolah dari school bully till injection BCG, ter 'pee' dlm pants, ter'muntah dalam van and tertinggal baju sukan *hehe^ sabor jer laah. I can still remember biler ada satu masa tu..Adly kena rotan by his papa sebab naughty..tokwan dia punyer risauu kat cucu dia..mundar-mandir kat luar rumah bila pintu bukak ajer teruss kasik cucu dia a big bear hugz..sambil tuh buat2 lawak tanya whether ada serious injury kat mana2 and the boys hapa lagii..they would returned his bear hugz and nanges2 manjaa laa..heheh.  Kalau tanya best tak duduk dengan Tokwan? their answers till now.. sangatt best cannot be described by words..rasa comforting, safe and best wooh sebab Tokwan jarang marah and selalu melawak kalau dia marah pun dia akan pujuk balik and the feelings was indescribable.  I guess his memories will always stay with the boys like a box of treasure which can only be opened by them..
